Amy Winehouse too pissed to perform

British jazz star Amy Winehouse has revealed a perfectly good reason for why she's been a no show at some of her gigs.

The singer has defended her reputation as an unreliable artist, insisting it's all been down to her being such as "perfectionist".

Thousands of fans have been left disappointed after the star failed to show up for a number of concerts, but Amy says she'd rather not hit the stage if it means giving a bad performance.

"I don't ever want to miss a gig, but sometimes I just don't feel up to it. I know it's last minute and it's really irresponsible, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I'd rather reschedule a show than do it half heartedly," Winehouse said.

Fans may not be so impressed with her explanation on this side of the pond but the Back to Black star is definitely making a splash in the US.

Eddie Murphy finally acknowledges his daughter

Eddie Murphy publicly acknowledged on Friday having fathered a child out of wedlock with Spice Girls singer Melanie Brown, who brought a paternity suit against him earlier this week.

A brief statement issued by Murphy's publicist said the 46-year-old star of "Dreamgirls" and the "Beverly Hills Cop" movies "always has and will continue to honour his responsibilities as a father."

"Mr. Murphy and Ms. Brown dated very briefly and never made any plans of ANY sort," the statement said. "He acknowledges paternity of the child Angel, and has paid child support to Ms. Brown as well as covering the expenses of her pregnancy."

The statement concluded by saying Murphy "views this as a private matter, and as such, will not be making any further comments about it."

Murphy had never publicly acknowledged paternity before. This man has lost a lot of respect for himself through this shameful behaviour.
